About Tirumala Temple

Tirumala is a holy place located in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. It is known for its sacred Tirumala Venkateswara Temple, one of the most visited temple in the world.

Introduction to TTD Free Darshan (Sarva darshan)

Sarva Darshan (Free Darshan) is the popular darshan where devotees have the darshan of Sri Venkateswara Swamy free of cost. It is open to all devotees. 

Sarvadarsanam means ‘darshan for all’. There is no ticket or token system for this Darshan.

Devotees coming for Sarva Darshan need to go to Tirumala and join the Q lines that lead to the Vaikuntham Queue Complex II.

They have to wait there for their turn to have darshan.


TTD Free Darshan Availability/ Process

The TTD offers 16 to 20-hours Free Sarva darshan at Tirumala temple.

No Tokens / Tickets are required for the free Sarva darshan of Tirumala Venkateshwara Swami.

Devotees can directly proceed for Srivari Sarva darshan without the need for any additional arrangements.

The approximate waiting time for free Sarva Darshan is between 4 to 24 hours.
The duration varies based on the crowd status at the time of visit.

Step-by-step procedure for TTD Free Darshan.

How to reach Tirumala from Tirupati

You can take a bus. The bus services are available round the clock and it takes around 45 minutes to reach Tirumala from Tirupati.


Upon Reaching Tirumala

Once you reach Tirumala,You may proceed to your designated room.

If you have not pre-booked accommodation, don’t worry!

The general pilgrims waiting halls are conveniently located near the Tirumala bus stand and provide basic amenities to make your stay comfortable. 

These halls are open 24 hours a day and offer seating arrangements, drinking water, charging points, and lockers to store your belongings.

The washrooms and bathrooms are well-maintained and kept clean for the convenience of the pilgrims.

Tonsuring at Kalyanakatta(Head Shave)

You can go to Kalyanakatta for tonsure (Head Shave) , which is the traditional act of shaving the head.

Tonsuring is considered a way of showing devotion and sacrifice to the Lord. After tonsuring, take a bath.

Dress Code for Temple Visit

After taking a bath, You can wear traditional dress, which is mandatory for entering the temple.

Men have to wear a dhoti and women have to wear a saree or salwar kameez.


Bus Service

From the room / Waiting Hall where you are staying, you can take a free bus to the temple.

The buses are provided free by TTD and are available round the clock.


Joining the Q-line for Srivari Darshan

Step-1. Q-line

Once you reach the Q-line starting point , you have to enter the queue lines that moves continuously towards the VQC (Vaikuntham Queue Complex). 

The waiting time in the running line can be long, but the temple administration provides facilities such as food, drinking water,milk, toilets, and medical facilities.

Step-2. Waiting Hall

Upon arriving at the VQC (Venkateswara Temple Queue Complex), visitors are required to undergo a thorough security screening process.

Once cleared, each individual is given a free laddu token and devotees are directed to seating are (compartment) , where you have to wait for your turn for darshan 

The compartment is spacious and well-ventilated. Devotees can sit and relax while waiting for their turn for darshan.

Step-3. Going for Darshan

Once the compartments are opened, you have to enter the queue lines that move continuously towards Srivari Darshan.

Finally, you will get the darshan of Lord Venkateswara.

The Lord is adorned with beautiful clothes and jewels and the atmosphere is charged with positive energy and devotion.

Step-4. Collecting Laddu

After completing the darshan, a Ladoo will be given free of cost to the Pilgrims after submitting the token at the Ladoo complex located outside the Temple.

      Free (Sarva Darshan) slots are unavailable until January 1st. Only SSD Darshan is currently available, and all tokens for this option have been allocated until January 1st.
