What’s RathaSaptami
Ratha Saptami, is a Hindu festival observed on the seventh day (saptami) during the bright half (Shukla Paksha) of the Hindu month Magha.
This significant day symbolizes the sun-god Surya turning his chariot (ratha), drawn by seven horses representing the seven colors, towards the northern hemisphere in a north-easternly direction.
Additionally, it commemorates the birth of Surya and is celebrated as Surya Jayanti, marking the sun-god’s birthday.
