The Srikalahasti Temple is located in the town of Srikalahasti, within the Tirupati district in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India.
It is believed to be the place where Kannappa was willing to sacrifice both his eyes to stem the flow of blood from the linga, until Lord Shiva intervened and granted him moksha (liberation).
The Srikalahasti Temple is a Pancha Bhoota Stalam, worshipping the deity as a Vayu Linga (air).
Often called the “Kashi of the South,” it’s open during solar and lunar eclipses.
This temple is particularly renowned for its Rahu-Kethu pooja, believed to protect individuals from the astrological influences of Rahu and Kethu.
